GENERAL
DO YOU OFFER PRODUCTS THAT ARE LEAD FREE?
We are proud to offer an extensive line of lead-free* Luxart products that meets both federal and state requirements. Available on your wholesaler’s shelves today, simply look for the lead-free* symbol to find product designated lead-free*. This lead-free logo is also listed on our packaging, specification sheets and in our product catalog to make it easy for you to find qualifying lead-free* products.
*Lead Free: The wetted surface of our Lead Free products that is contacted by potable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight.
WHY DO YOU OFFER LEAD FREE PRODUCTS?
Recently several states have enacted laws with requirements for reducing lead in plumbing products. As well, the federal Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act becomes effective January 4, 2014. The new federal law redefines “lead-free” under the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act and implements the strict regulations of California and Vermont.
These laws specifically apply to pipes, pipe or plumbing fittings, fixtures, solder and flux that are used in the installation or repair of a plumbing water system intended to convey or dispense water for human consumption (potable water). By setting lead limits on fixtures with a wetted surface area containing no more than a weighted average of .25% lead, the laws virtually eliminate the lead content to convey or dispense water for drinking. Products designed exclusively for purposes other than dispensing water for human consumption are exempt from this requirement.
Luxart products already comply with the 2014. Just look for the lead-free* symbol on our packaging, specification sheets and in our product catalog to make it easy for you to find qualifying lead-free*products.

STAINLESS STEEL SINKS
WHAT DOES THE WORD "GAUGE" MEAN, WHEN REFERRING TO STAINLESS STEEL SINKS?
Gauge is the thickness of the stainless steel. The lower the number, the thicker the stainless steel. For example, 16 gauge is thicker than 18 gauge.
WHAT GAUGE STAINLESS STEEL DOES LUXART USE?
Luxart undermount sinks are all 16 gauge type 304 stainless steel.
IS THE THICKNESS OF THE STEEL REALLY THAT IMPORTANT?
Yes, the thicker the steel, the more resistant it is to denting, bending and noise transmission from heavy pots and pans.
ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF STAINLESS STEEL?
Yes. Luxart sinks are made from high quality type 304 stainless steel with 18% chromium and 8% nickel content. Some of our competitors use a type 301 steel which is easier to form into a sink, but because of a lower chromium and nickel content will lose its luster over time.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY STAINLESS STEEL SINK?
Routine cleaning with hot water and soap is important. For mild stains or light scratches, we suggest a mildly aggressive cleaner such as Shiny Sinks Plus® or Flitz®. To remove stubborn stains Comet®, Ajax®, BonAmi® or BarKeeper’s Friend® work well but always rub in the direction of the grain. Always rinse thoroughly and wipe dry after cleaning.
I HAVE RUST IN MY SINK, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Luxart sinks use top quality stainless steel that does not rust. However if your water has a high iron content, a brown surface stain can form on the sink giving the appearance of rust. Also, iron particles from metal cooking implements or steel wool can bond to the surface of the sink and cause rust spots. To remove this surface rust, use a small amount of a recommended cleaner and rub in the direction of the grain. Always rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
IS IT OK TO CLEAN MY SINK WITH STEEL WOOL OR A STEEL BRUSH?
No! Never use steel wool, metal scouring pads, steel brushes, etc. as they will leave behind residue that can cause a rusty discoloration.
IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO USE A RUBBER MAT TO PROTECT THE BOTTOM OF MY SINK?
No! The water they trap can cause iron or mineral deposits and surface discoloration.
WHAT ABOUT SCRATCHES ON MY SINK?
Luxart uses top quality Type 304 stainless steel, but any stainless steel sink will scratch with use. As the sink ages, scratches will blend into the surface and become less evident.
CAN MY SINK WITHSTAND EXTREME TEMPERATURES?
Absolutely. Stainless steel will easily stand up to the thermal shock of boiling liquids followed by icy water without any damage.
WHY DO I HAVE SPOTS IN MY SINK?
The quality of your water can affect the appearance of you sink. Iron or mineral content in your water can leave surface spots or a film… this can be removed with a soft cloth, warm water and dish soap. For removing heavier residue, vinegar and water may be used. Always rinse thoroughly and towel dry.

VANITIES
WHAT FEATURES CAN I EXPECT WHEN I PURCHASE AN ANDRESSA VANITY?
By choosing Andressa, you choose a high quality vanity that is sturdily built and can be used with reliability you can depend on. Every Andressa vanity is built with furniture grade construction; you can typically expect the following features:
- Solid wood frame or high grade engineer wood
- Corner block structure
- Soft-close doors and drawers
- Durable hardware
- Adjustable leg levelers
HOW DO I CARE FOR AND CLEAN WOODEN VANITIES?
- Dust the vanity frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth, as well as polish it on a regular basis.
- Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain. Use furniture cleaners or polishes recommended by your local hardware store, following manufacturer's application and cleaning instructions. Avoid using silicone cleaners and waxes.
- Clean up excess water and spills immediately. Use a blotting rather than a wiping action. Water left over for a long period of time will cause white spots in the finish.
HOW DO I CARE FOR AND CLEAN STONE VANITY TOPS?
- Marble/Granite is porous and easily stained. Wipe off anything spilled on it immediately. It should be washed or cleaned regularly with fresh warm water and a non-abrasive clean cloth. Also, using a nonabrasive, neutral (pH balanced) cleaner will help remove dirt and grime, but it is recommended to first try warm water only.
- Marble / Granite top has been sealed at the manufacturing facility. The sealer acts as a stain inhibitor and prevents most stains and soil from being absorbed into the porous surface, but it is NOT a guarantee against staining. All spills should be cleaned immediately. Avoid contact with all oils and petroleum-based products.
- Also, avoid contact with all acid or caustic products such as vinegar, citrus or fruit juices, soda, chlorine, and nail polish remover. If the marble/granite is well sea led, the warm water and non-abrasive cloth should keep it clean.
- Every year the marble/granite should be sealed with a good quality marble/granite sealer. Marble/Granite sealers are available at most retail home supply stores. Follow the instructions on the sealer container for proper application and frequency of use.
- Placing protective pads on the bottom of any heavy objects will help prevent scratching of the marble / granite surface. Periodically rotate accessories on marble/granite so that they don't sit in the same spot for an extended period of time.
HOW DO I CARE FOR AND CLEAN PORCELAIN SINKS?
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners. Clean regularly with non-abrasive cleansers and non-scratching sponges.
- Wash sink with warm water, mild detergent and a damp cloth, or soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly using clean warm water.
